The team came ready to meet the challenge this past week of staying focused and taking care of business, which was the goal set for them this week. We came in, played hard, and took care of a team that was down. The defense and special teams set up the first two touchdowns for the offense.
Eric Jones did a great job filling in for Matt Lowry by throwing for 134 yards and rushing for 104. Evan Nugent, Travis Smith, Jimi Smith, Dave Lizanich, and Eric each contributed with touchdowns. Alex Theiling also contributed by connecting on all 5 extra points, and having excellent kick offs and punts.
We finished the first part of the season 2-1 and now focus on the second part of the season with opening conference play against a tough Midview football team. Our challenge is to step up, meet the expectations and start conference play with a victory.
